I’ve Gone Vintage

Fashion. It’s fun…or at least it should be. One of my favorite things about it is how old trends come back around and are given new life. I honestly feel like an actress at times, when a vintage style comes back “in” and I get to wear it; like I’m playing the part of someone from that particular era. It is just plain fun and feeds into my romantic, history-loving spirit. With that in mind, I am fully embracing some of this season’s trends.

When I saw the Newsboy hats making a comeback, I was a little hesitant at first. I was reminded of the slouchier versions of the early 2,000’s and just kept picturing some really bad Christina Aguilera outfits with a slouchy newsboy hat, seriously low-cut denim, a bubblegum pink scarf top and a hip chain. I was afraid, I was very afraid. But I have to say, I’m really enjoying this more structured version. It’s newsboy meets conductor meets ship captain and I’m not mad about it. In fact, I own four now. I know, it’s a tad excessive, but they’re all different! I’ll share that collection soon.

If you add one basic to your fall wardrobe, it should be this coat. It goes with EVERYTHING. Also, it is actually the perfect combination of modern and classic. It has an excellent silhouette that looks great with jeans, pants, dresses or skirts underneath. It is at a great price for a coat too! I’ll have it linked below.

Another vintage-esque trend I am thoroughly enjoying are sock boots. They’re everywhere, in all shapes and colors and at all prices! I’m currently working on a sock boot roundup post so stay tuned for that. I really love the ones I am wearing here since they have a wedge heel that gives some extra stability and makes them quite comfortable.

See, if that giant, modern glass building wasn’t there you wouldn’t know this is a picture from 2017!

This sweater dress was quite the find as well. It is one of the season’s hottest colors (warm earth tones are in y’all) and I immediately thought of so many different ways to style it. I love pieces that will really work for me and that work well with what I already have in my closet.

I legitimately look like a mid-century flight attendant in this photo. It’s seriously all I think when I look at it. “Please give us your attention as we take you through the safety procedures of this jet”.

So now you know how I feel about these trends, but I really am curious to know what YOU think. Are you enjoying this season’s “it” styles or could you do without them?

Leave your feedback in the comments section. While I absolutely stay true to my personal style, I like tailoring these posts (especially shoppable ones) to what my readers like.

As I mentioned above, I’m working on a sock boot roundup post but is there anything else you would like me to curate so you can shop it? I’m all ears!
